Among the toughest members of the 1927 Yankees to find a quality images of is the trainer Doc Woods. While an integral part of the team, he was behind the scenes and rarely in front of the camera. Here is a rare look into his life though as he applies electro-shock therapy, or a light therapy of some kind, to the arm of Hall of Famer Earle Combs in hopes he would be able to play in the upcoming World Series. Issued by the International News the next year (1928) and with a full paper caption, this is a rarity among fans of the 1927 Yankees and it grades a perfect 10/10!
