1919 Large two-part photograph of the battery from the Chicago Black Sox as they headed into the World Series against the Reds, capturing Hall of Famers Red Faber and Ray Schalk. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this photo used split negative technology and each of these (if cut apart) would classify as Vintage 1 (Type 1) examples! An incredible image with nice clarity and contrast despite a bit of chipping from news room use at the edges.
