In 1916, Ty Cobb was the best player in baseball and the debate was only "who was next." Babe Ruth had not established himself yet and Joe Jackson was just finding his stride, the man most thought was Cobb's next biggest rival was Bennie Kauff. His nickname was "Ty Cobb of the Federal League" and when this photo was taken before the start of the season, these men were the talk of the game! Cobb would only get better while Kauff would fade into obscurity, but this photo of the two men together is an important piece of baseball history. Issued by Underwood and Underwood, the photo is in great shape with a full paper caption as well.
