c. 1910 George Grantham Bain photograph of New York Giants Hall of Fame catcher Roger Bresnahan as he was honored at the Polo Grounds. He was playing for the St. Louis Cardinals at the time the image was taken, but was still beloved by his former teammates on the Giants who showered him with flowers and gifts on this day. The photo identifies the man presenting the award to Bresnahan as Hall of Famer John M. Ward but we are not sure if this identification is correct and more research is needed as to the identity of Ward. The clarity is exceptional and despite some chips on the corners it looks really good. We have been informed the announcer is likely boxing personality Joe Humphreys.
