1909 Extremely rare photograph of Detroit News photographer William A. Kuenzel as he posed with his graflex camera that he used to take some of the most famous baseball images of the era. Kuenzel was a pioneer of sports photography, primarily the rise of the Detroit Tigers baseball team and Ty Cobb, and his works are prized along with Charles Conlon and Louis Van Oeyen. This image is the only we have ever seen of the photographer himself, made incredibly special by the presence of his camera in the shot! Issued in the 1930's based on the style and paper, the photo has a morgue stamp of 1946 on the back which is the latest the image could be from. An important piece of sports photography that is being offered here for the first time ever!
