Incredible photograph of the starting five of the 1981-82 University of North Carolina Tarheels as they engaged in a post-game interview on the court after winning the NCAA championship over Georgetown just minutes earlier. James Worthy is at the far right while a young freshman who hit the game winning shot, Michael Jordan, is pictured at center, his iconic profile dominating the frame. It appears as though the CBS reporter has just addressed Jordan and was about to pass the microphone his way, likely asking him about his poise under pressure to hit the game winning shot. Stamped on the back by famous photographer Malcolm Emmons, the photo has been encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1 and it is the only example of this important photograph we have ever seen! There are only a handful of image of Jordan from this important game that have ever hit the market, with one being among the best, capturing him as a young champion with his whole career ahead of him and taken by a noted photographer. The condition and quality are both outstanding!
