1948 Dramatic action photograph of Marcel Cerdan as he floored Lavern Roach in their bout at Madison Square Garden. A powerful and tragic piece of boxing history as it was issued in 1950 when Roach was killed in the ring, with the story on the back suggesting that this blow from Cerdan might have made him weak and the actual reason he died! Cerdan would also meet a tragic end as he died in 1949 in a plane crash. This is the work of Herb Scharfman and issued through the International News and with a large paper caption on the back.
