1924 Composite photograph of the biggest fight that never was in boxing history. Jack Dempsey was the man, everyone knew of his skill and power, but the only fighter that could challenge him during the early 1920's was not allowed to because of the color of his skin. Harry Wills was an absolute beast, Dempsey knew it too. He was scared to fight him, but willing to do so which spoke volumes of Dempsey's character. The public however, was not ready for such an event. In the world of the early 1900's and fresh off Jack Johnson's reign, nobody was willing to accept another black champion. Here in this composite photograph we see what the fight would have looked like had it taken place! A fantastic image that was issued by the Keystone View Company and stamped on the back with a full paper caption a well. An interesting image that presents well with a few pinholes from editorial use.
