1938 Incredible photograph of pioneer athlete Woody Strode from UCLA, shirtless at a track meet and showing his incredible physique. Strode was one of the first two black men signed by the NFL and broke their color barrier with Kenny Washington in 1946, a year before Jackie Robinson did the same thing in baseball. This photo is also a powerful reminder that athletes in the 1930's were no joke as Strode looks like he could step into an NFL combine today! Issued by Acme and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well, this is a great image that we have never seen before. The photo has some light crazing from age and a few light creases, but it looks better than the technical grade.
