1925 Was the year that Red Grange put the NFL on the map. While the world looks at that date as an important one in Sports History, it is probably one Grange wished to forget. He was overworked and overused at every level, leading to injury and fatigue that he was never able to overcome throughout his playing career. On the cusp of greatness, Grange is seen here taking a rare break from the game and resting on the ground during an October 1925 game (dated October 6th so likely from the Nebraska game). Photo is a rare example which we have only seen once before and with tremendous clarity and image quality. The photo is in great shape for the age, issued by Underwood and Underwood and pulled from their archives. The photo has an embossed "File Copy" stamp which adds to the uniqueness of the piece.
