1909 Head to toe photograph of former Michigan football star and current Notre Dame coach Frank "Shorty" Longman. Taken on the football field and in uniform, Longman was the first superstar coach of the Notre Dame Fightin Irish, making this an important image. It was Longman who not only turned around the Irish into a powerhouse, but picked and awkward freshman named Knute Rockne to be on his varsity team in 1910, hanging football forever!
