1961 Poignant photograph of Roger Maris as he posed next to the Babe Ruth monument at Yankee Stadium during the year he chased down his home run record. Taken by photographer Charles Hoff, this is dated from September 10, 1961 which means Maris was inching closer but still a ways away from catching Ruth. This is aesthetically one of the best Maris photographs we have ever seen and it presents beautifully. The photo has creasing at the corners but otherwise it looks great.
