1959 Contact print photograph of Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle slamming a home run as part of a publicity shoot for Ziv Television and their new program, "Home Run Derby." This is a rare image used as part of the advertising campaign for the now iconic program and this image is the only full sized example we have seen (we sold a contact print from the exact same folder in 2020). This is a blank backed photo and as such, PSA likely will not assign it a Type 1, but we personally pulled this from the folder of Home Run Derby images originating from Ziv television and it absolutely dates to the 1960's! There about ten original 8x10 images and a few contact sheets in the folder and PSA has given the contact prints all Type 1 certification so we are confident of the age of the paper, regardless of how they assess blank backed 8x10 images.
