Original 1951 photograph of the New York Yankees in uniform and posing at the ballpark. While you would think the final season for Joe DiMaggio would have been the story, 1951 is better remembered for being the first year of mega-star Mickey Mantle. Pictured fifth from the right in the middle row, Mantle looks like he just walked off his high school field and into Yankee Stadium. While most of the 1951 Yankees team photos are re-strikes, this one is absolutely authentic in great shape with some mild crackling on the surface from age. A nearly perfect example and this is possibly the finest image of the 1951 Yankees team we have ever handled!
