Large c. 1953 photograph of baseball Hall of Famer Monte Irvin in uniform and posing for photographers with his glove. With the usual caveats of artistic enhancements sometimes distorting images used to make baseball cards, this appears to be the photo used to make his 1954 Topps baseball card. Changes to the hat are slightly evident but every other aspect of his face including ears are exact. It would be hard to imagine another photo out there is more of a match than this one. Autographed on the front by Irvin, the photo presents well with note to a light crease from handling.
