Lost in the story of the famous Mickey Owen dropped ball in the 1941 World Series is that it took three more consecutive hits after that even to seal the fate of the Dodgers. Mickey gets the blame, but this image taken by Hugh Broderick, shows Joe DiMaggio, the next man up to bat, hitting a single to keep the rally going and eventually he would score the winning run. An important image from one of the most famous games in World Series history and it represents the only example we have ever seen.
