1911 Extremely rare action photograph of mascot Charles Victory Faust from the day that John McGraw let him suit up and become a legend, an actual player for the team. Faust was an eccentric man with no baseball history who wiggled his way into the Giants dugout as a mascot. The team went on a massive winning streak and John McGraw was sure it was the luck Faust brought to the club that was behind it. Faust was allowed to pitch in a couple of blowouts and when the team came back down to earth, McGraw sent him packing. He would disappear into the crowd and die in 1915. In the twenty plus years of searching archives and hunting down rarities, we have seen two images of Faust with this being perhaps the best, catching his slender form and pitching delivery in full uniform. From the Paul Thompson photo service and in great shape, this is encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1 and grades a perfect 10/10!
