1907 Vintage pitching action photograph of Rube Waddell from the Philadelphia Athletics and showing off his pitching form at the ballpark for famous photographer Charles Conlon. Perhaps his most important image ever taken, this is the photo used to create his T206 baseball card and ranks among the finest of all the subjects in the iconic set. It is hard to pinpoint when this photo was developed by Conlon, but it is from the archives of Baseball Magazine and was used by them for decades in publication. We feel the specimen dates to the 1920's based on the paper, but could be a bit later. The back of the photo is signed by Conlon, cementing that this is indeed his work and done in his home dark room, but likely done off a duplicate he made of his own glass plate negative for functionality or perhaps damage to the first version. An incredible piece of baseball card history that was once held in the hand of the great master Charles Conlon himself!
