1947 Large photograph of Babe Ruth, the greatest athlete in American history, as he received an emotional standing ovation and choked back tears. Ruth was sick and this was his first public appearance since his illness had been announced. He was surrounded by baseball writers and the men who covered him throughout his career. A powerful image in pretty nice shape with some light creasing, this is from the International News and stamped on the back with a full paper caption as well. Encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1!
