Large 1939 batting photo of Yankees icon Lou Gehrig in full uniform as he holds his follow through and watches the flight of the ball as it sails away. A touching image as he is pictured from his final season in which he started slow and then got the devastating diagnosis of ALS that would take his life two years later. Large and clear, this was issued by the Associated Press and presents in fine condition overall but does have a small rip on the bottom. One of his last action photos ever taken!
