1937 Portrait photograph of author Thomas Wolfe as he posed in the studio of famous art photographer Carl Van Vechten. Wolfe is one of the most influential authors of all time and his images are exceedingly rare as he rarely was in the public eye and then died suddenly in 1938. This is the only image of Thomas Wolfe we have ever seen in any form and it is from his most famous studio session of his life, embossed and stamped by the great Carl Van Vechten! One of the most important photographs of any literary figure we have ever seen and it grades almost perfect.
