Incredibly rare 1927 panoramic photograph from the opening game of Mission League in California, which was a west coast rival to the Negro National League, and captures the Royal Colored Giants of Oakland in full uniform. The image captures (14) players in full uniform and each is identified on the bottom with their names written in ink. The caption on the photo notes this was taken on April 9, 1927 and was before a game against the San Jose team. Any images of professional black teams from this era are rare with this being the only photograph from this league we have ever seen! The photo is stamped on the back by the photographer and it grades essentially perfect with a slight trim (likely done by the photographer himself).
