Large 1927 original Underwood and Underwood photograph of Lou Gehrig from the Yankees at the World Series during the famous 'Murderer's Row' season, and posing for a photograph with his mother in the stands. Gehrig was the ultimate mama's boy until he met his wife, and Christina would be at all the games cheering on her son. A fantastic image with exceptional clarity that presents well with note to a small corner chip and some adhesive residue on the back from news room use. The look on Gehrig's face is priceless and this might be one of the more genuinely happy images of the Iron horse we have ever seen! This is one of only two examples we have ever seen and this is being offered here for the first time ever!
