From the archives of the greatest early photographic collector of all time, these four albumen photographs of Abraham Lincoln were removed from original CDV backings and placed onto a sheet for publication in a book chronicling the life of Abraham Lincoln. From the estate of Frederick Meserve, these are not the silver prints he did later in life as collectors keepsakes, but appear to be original albumen photographs that were once original CDV images but were removed for use in publication. Each of the four photographs has deep sepia tones and the original factory cut (CDV sized) and are lightly adhered to the page as offered here, with an overlaying sheet with catalog numbers in Meserve's hand. An incredible offering not just for the four images of Lincoln, but because the provenance from Meserve is of equal importance! Offered here for the first time ever.
