Important 1925 photograph of Dr. James Naismith, the man who invented the game of basketball, as he helps his young son learn some of the fundamentals of the game. All images of Naismith are extremely rare and this is one of the best we have offered in years. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back, this is from their archives and offered here for the first time ever. The condition is pretty nice for the age with a small rip (hard to see) on the left border and some general wear from news room handling. An exciting new discovery from the most important sports innovator of all time!
