1922 Was a huge disappointment for Babe Ruth. He had been on top of the world, but had struggled with his fast lifestyle catching up to him. He was suspended, fought with fans, and seemed like his best days were behind him. He then struggled in the World Series, barely hitting balls back to the pitcher. After the season, Ruth vowed he would not drink and would rededicate himself to the game. Here he is, hard at work on his farm just a few months after his massive disappointment in the World Series, but sticking to his diet and exercise. he would rebound in a huge way in 1923 and lead the Yankees to their first ever World Series title making this an important turning point in his career. Stamped on the back by Wide World Photos and in pretty good shape overall with a crease on the upper right and a few light chips which are not bad at all.
