Important 1908 photograph of Ferenc Szisz, the first ever winner of the Grand Prix at Le Mans as he posed behind the wheel at the first ever American Grand Prix in Savannah. The image would be an important piece of racing history if it was just Szisz behind the wheel, but this image captures him at the first ever Grand Prix race ever held in American history! Taken by the famous Spooner and Wells studio of New York, Karl Spooner was at the Savannah race and even added his temporary address at the De Soto hotel on the back! An important piece of racing history that is from the absolute genesis of Formula One and offered here for the first time ever! There is some light scrapbook paper on the back as this was in the actual Spooner and Wells company album displayed at their showroom in New York City.
