On the eve of the 1927 World Series all anyone could talk about was how good the Yankees were. Their pitching was great, but that lineup! Led by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, the Yankees were deemed as the greatest team of all time and given the timeless nickname "Murderers Row". Pictured here we find the superstar infielders of that iconic team led by Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig and Tony Lazzeri and followed by Mark Koenig and Joe Dugan in uniform and striking their batting pose for the camera at Yankee Stadium. While there are many images of the 1927 Yankees out there, this is one of the greatest and it presents here in full 8x10 splendor from Underwood and Underwood with a stamp and paper caption on the back as well. This is the only example of this photograph we have ever seen and it is one of best of Gehrig we have ever handled in any form! The photo has some wear to the corners and a small piece of tape on the back to reinforce a slight rip on the border, but otherwise it is a masterpiece of baseball photography!
