The most important gambling scandal in sports since the 1919 Chicago White Sox threw the World Series was the 1950-51 "point shaving scandal" in college basketball. Largely involving key members of the CCNY program (reigning national champions) the fix actually spread to several schools but with the key players being CCNY members. Suspensions and fined followed, but Hall of Fame coach Nat Holman survived and this image captures him addressing his team for the first time since the scandal broke. An important piece of basketball history that is being offered here for the first time ever, this is from the International News and with a full paper caption on the back as well. The photo has a small crease on the lower right but otherwise presents beautifully.
