Ernie Koob was a good pitcher, but not a likely candidate to no-hit the eventual World Series champion Chicago White Sox in 1917 when he wrote his name into the history books. The offered photograph was almost certainly taken in the season in which he pitched his way to fame, this is a fantastic original photo by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a paper caption as well. The photo has a corner chip but otherwise it looks great.
