Interesting and intense photograph of Babe Ruth from the New York Yankees as he collides violently with Heinie Groh of the Giants at third base. Taken during the fourth inning of game three of the World Series, Ruth is seen colliding at third base with Heinie Groh of the Giants and clearly extending his elbow to his head. Ruth had been hit by a pitch and was trying to take third on a later single when he collided with Groh and was called out for interference (rightfully so). The image shows Ruth hitting the bag as Groh flies through the air losing his hat in the process. A cool image which might be a unique survivor in the hobby issued by the Keystone View company and with a stamp on the back. The photo presents well with note to a corner chip but this is the only example of this play we have ever seen taken from an angle where you can see Ruth's face!
