1961 Posed action photo of Syracuse University star Ernie Davis from the height of his fame and popularity as he struck the famous Heisman pose in anticipation that he might win the award. He would indeed win the Heisman Trophy (the first black player to do so) and the sky seemed to be the limit for "The Express." Life would take a tragic turn for Davis who would be diagnosed with Leukemia shortly after being drafted and die the following year. The offered photo is a spectacular image in great shape that ranks among the best ever taken of this tragic superstar. A Hall of Fame worthy relic from one of the most important football players of all time and the first of this pose we have ever offered.
