1938 Would mark the last full season of baseball for Lou Gehrig, and just the third for young Joe DiMaggio. The offered image seems to capture the weight of the moment as Gehrig sits closed off with legs and arms folded, seeming to resist fate, while DiMaggio is relaxed with both arms and legs open to the future that lay ahead of him. While the photo is a restrike from the 1960's or 1970's, it presents well with significant age to it and was developed off a glass negative in a dark room. One of the only examples of this photograph we have ever seen.
