One of the more interesting images of Babe Ruth from the early 1920's is this Wide World Photo from 5/29/1924 showing the Bambino in full Military Uniform and saluting the camera. Paper caption on the back goes into detail about the image but does not really mention WHY the Babe is dressed in Military uniform. Apparently he donned a uniform in 1924 to help recruit for the "Citizens Military" as a member of the 104th Field Artillery in the New York National Guard, which is the reason for this image. Tremendous and often reproduced photo, this is one of only two examples we have ever handled. Encapsulated by PSA as a Type 1 and in great shape. Offered here for the first time ever fresh out of a newspaper archive.
