Dated December 7, 1941 official U.S. Military photograph of Pearl Harbor in flames following the sneak attack by the Japanese. Smoke still belches toward the sky in the distance while American airplane hangars sit in the foreground as this photograph was taken just moments after the wave of fire that started WWII. A sweeping and bold work of photography that we have never seen before in original form, this comes from the archives of Underwood and Underwood and is being offered here for the first time ever. The photo has various stamps and stickers on the back, but the important purple government text and date are clearly visible and unobscured. This will get a Type 1 from PSA and would be the cornerstone of even the most advanced photography collection. There is some adhesive residue on the back making a few spots where the photo is sticky, but this can be cleaned off or will not matter if it is encapsulated by PSA, otherwise it grades a perfect 10/10!
