1915 Photograph of the five Boston Red Sox pitchers that were heading into the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Included in the photo at center-right and dominating the frame is rookie southpaw Babe Ruth. While he was just an up and coming rookie at the time, he would transform sports and American culture by the end of the decade. Considering his humble beginnings as a pitcher, relatively few images of Ruth were taken in 1915 with this being among his most famous ever shot. Issued by Underwood and Underwood, this comes stamped on the back and with a full paper caption as well. While there are 5-10 known examples of this photograph, this is the bet specimen on the planet, grading a perfect 10/10 with sharp corners (untouched and exactly as found in the Underwood archive) and no damage to the surface. Recently encapsulated by PSA just this month, this is a brand new discovery that is making it's debut in the hobby here. All things considered, this is one of the greatest images of Ruth to hit the market and it sits here in perfect 10/10 condition!
