1954 Early photograph of young New York Yankees star Mickey Mantle as he waited for his turn to take some hacks in the batting cage at Yankee Stadium. The fresh faced youngster standing next to him is rookie Boll Skowron who would become one of his best friends on the team. A unique new discovery, this is one of the best images of Mantle from an amateur photographer we have handled and it exhibits crystal clarity so deep, you can see the individual grains of wood on his bat! There are two small pieces of tape that once held this in a scrapbook but it looks great!
