1948 Photograph of Babe Ruth as he appeared in Yankee pinstripes for the last time ever and spent a moment in the locker room getting ready to appear before a sell-out crowd at Yankee Stadium. A few moments later the iconic photo of him leaning on a bat and waving to his fans would be snapped, winning the Pulitzer Prize for photographer Nat Fein! While this is a photograph that is often found reproduced in the 1970's and 1980's, this is clearly a vintage image that predates the 1960's as the image does not fluoresce under a black light and clearly has a ton of age to it (including stained tape residue on the back that takes multiple decades to turn color). While it is impossible to pinpoint the date to an exact moment, we feel c. 1952 is fair which places this within our five year window!
