The bright spot for the White Sox in the 1919 World Series was the unexpected play of their third pitcher Dickie Kerr. He came out of nowhere and did what Eddie Cicotte and Lefty Williams could not, bet the Reds. An important moment in history as this very day, rumors of a fix were thick in the air and the pressure on Kerr had to be enormous. If he pitched bad, he might have been implicated as well! A rare image that we have never seen before showing the two pitchers (Ray Fisher of the Reds) posing just moments before their battle. Issued by Underwood and Underwood and stamped on the back with a large paper caption as well, this is an important piece of baseball history that is being offered here for the first time ever!
