1913 Two part composite photograph of the two top rookies at spring training with the Giants in Marlin Springs, Texas. At right is pitcher Ferdie Schupp who would have a nice career in the big leagues, but the star attraction in all of baseball in 1913 is pictured to the left, Olympic Champion Jim Thorpe! One of his first, if not THE first image fo Thorpe in uniform with the Giants, this is one of his most famous photographs ever taken and this is a completely vintage example from Underwood and Underwood. Condition is great and the photo has a long and detailed paper caption on the back. One of the finest early pieces of Jim Thorpe memorabilia that exists!
