1911 Unique action photograph from the Cleveland ballpark and showing first baseman Pat Newnam of the Browns holding a player at first base and although his face can not be seen, he is identified on the back as "Jackson" which would be Shoeless Joe Jackson. A vintage image from a local Cleveland photographer, this is being offered publicly for the first time fresh out of their archive. Without seeing his face it is impossible to tell if this really is Joe Jackson, but the pencil inscription is vintage and was absolutely written by a worker at the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The uniforms are 1911 for sure and Jackson was on base a LOT in this season so the odds are pretty good. Regardless, it is a cool image of the Cleveland stadium and a rare player in Newnam.
