You would think that every image and every piece of information about the Kennedy assassination from November 22, 1963 in Dallas would have been seen by now. The offered photograph was consigned to us directly from the daughter of the man who stood in a crowd on that fateful day in Dallas and snapped this single full-color image of Jack and Jackie Kennedy in the car that would take him to his death only minutes after this shutter was snapped. Research could probably pinpoint the exact spot where this was taken, but the fact that an image of Kennedy in the Presidential car from his assassination could exist that has never been seen before seemed unthinkable, until now. Overall the condition is really nice with some color shifting from age which was common given the technology available at the time. The consignor informed us that the original negative has been lost to history so additional prints that could possibly be made are impossible. Printed on Kodak paper which is consistent with the age, we have shown this image to PSA and they concurred that if submitted it would receive a "Type 1" designation! One of the most important historical discoveries we have ever had the pleasure of bringing to the public, this image belongs in a museum or gallery! Note, proceeds from the sale of this image will go to family of the man who took the photograph in 1963 for a intense, life-saving medical operation that will take place next month! If the new owner wishes to have a letter of provenance, we can also arrange that with the family.
