The 1927 Bustin Babes and Larrupin Lous barnstorming tour is one of the most important and famous of all time. The odd thing about it is even though they toured the country and played in front of thousands of people, few professional quality images of the trip exist. Most are small snapshots or a handful of commercially produced photographs from New York photographers that were released before the tour began. With this information in mind, the offered large photograph of Ruth in uniform and batting on the tour is an incredible new discovery that is sure to excite even the most astute collectors. A silver gelatin image that clearly is original to 1927 based on the paper and developing process, the photo is one of the only actual images of Ruth at-bat (not hanging around before or after the games) that we have ever seen and by far the largest. An impressive image that will absolutely get a Type 1 from PSA guaranteed! Photo has some mild handling wear at the top but it presents pretty well overall.
