1909 Vintage double weight photograph of Ty Cobb from the Detroit Tigers as he demonstrates his famous slide. This is one of Cobb's most famous early images and it was used to make his 1912 La Azora Cuban postcard. This is one of only two known examples of this photograph, the first being a larger version and this being a sepia, double weight masterpiece of photography. There has been some mild restoration along the bottom border, but the figure of Cobb himself has been largely untouched. One of the most historically important images we have ever offered and one of the top images of Cobb that exists on the planet! Completely vintage to 1910!
