Large and beautiful 1919 dated head to toe batting photograph of Buck Weaver from the Chicago White Sox. Taken in uniform and issued through the Graphic News Bureau of New York, this has a fantastic secondary stamp from NEA which puts this right during the famous Black Sox World Series! Without a doubt this is one of the finest images of Weaver that exists in any form and it is one of only two known copies. While this image has an extensive paper caption that talks all about the star player, there is a pencil date that places this to the World Series and the other copy known has a stamped world series date as well. Photo is crystal clear but has a crease on the left side from editorial use and there are some pinholes from artistic use in a newspaper as well.
