In 1924 a man named Joaquín Argamasilla emerged as a challenger to the throne of Harry Houdini as the top magician and paranormal entertainer in the world. In response, Houdini set out to publicly challenge his claims of being able to see things (psychic) and debunked Joaquín Argamasilla as a fraud. The event was one of the seminal moments of Houdini's career and it ended the up and coming rise of Joaquín Argamasilla. The offered vintage photograph directly from a newspaper article is the only example from this event we have ever seen and it comes with a huge handwritten story on the back describing the action. There is some wear on the left border but it otherwise presents beautifully. A unique image offered here for the first time ever!
