In 1928 the famed aviator Amelia Earhart, always fashion conscious, started a clothing line and used a spread in Cosmopolitan Magazine to generate interest in her garments. They ran a long story about her accomplishments as well as her sense of taste, complete with photographs in flight suits and in her latest dresses. The offered studio photograph is from the sitting she did for Cosmopolitan magazine and this photo was recently unearthed in a famous New York newspaper archive. It is highly likely that only a handful of the prints were made, making this a likely unique and important new discovery of Earhart photography. A silver gelatin original in nice shape, this is a crystal clear perfect image that ranks among the greatest images of Earhart ever offered to the public. This is the first time this image has ever been offered for sale and it is sure to be the centerpiece of even the most advanced collection of photography!
