Large c. 1952 team issued portrait photograph of a VERY young looking Alex Delvecchio in uniform with the Detroit Red Wings. Taken about the time he was just breaking into the NHL, this is a completely vintage specimen that is among his earliest ever offered. There is a pencil "1958" written on the back from a newspaper archive but that is likely when the image was filed and not when it was taken or developed which was clearly earlier. This is his greatest photograph we have ever handled and it was used by the Topps chewing gum company to make his 1957 hockey card as well!
