Large c. 1917 statuesque action photograph of Hall of Famer Harry Heilmann as he warms up at the ballpark. Taken during the beginning stages of his career where he was a very average hitter, it would be another three or four years before he REALLY burst on the scene! A large silver gelatin photograph from photographer Izzy Kaplan, this is one of the best early images of Heilmann known to exist! Large and bold, this is also the work of a very influential early Jewish sports photographer as well.
