Harry Davis was a four time home run champ, leader of one of the best teams of his generation, one of the best fielding first baseman of his era, and regarded by his peers as one of the top players of his generation. Those accolades would normally land a player in Cooperstown, but Davis is weirdly forgotten today. The offered image from his own estate, captures Davis in full uniform and showing off his batting form at the ballpark. Likely the work of Louis van Oeyen (we purchased a similar photo from his estate on the same mounted board and had it soaked off to reveal a Van Oeyen stamp on the back). The figure of Davis is perfect and it displays like a work of pre-war photo art. The image has two spots of damage near the far left but the display looks way better than the technical grade.
